Privacy Policy Analyzer is a Chrome browser extension designed to help users understand website privacy policies using AI-powered summaries and risk scoring. This privacy policy explains how information is handled.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Privacy Policy Analyzer does not collect, store, sell, or share:

• Browsing history
• Account credentials
• Usage analytics
• Tracking data
• Any personally identifiable information

2. What the Extension Accesses

The extension scans the current webpage only to detect links to privacy policies. If the user chooses to analyze a privacy policy, the extension processes the text of that privacy policy for AI analysis.

The extension does not monitor or store browsing activity beyond the user-initiated analysis.

3. Use of OpenAI API

If the user provides an OpenAI API key:

• The privacy policy text is sent directly to OpenAI’s API for analysis.
• The API key is stored locally in Chrome extension storage.
• The API key is never transmitted to the developer.
• No data is routed through developer-owned servers.

OpenAI’s use of submitted data is governed by OpenAI’s own privacy policies.

4. Local Storage

Any OpenAI API key entered by the user is stored locally using Chrome’s extension storage. This data remains on the user’s device and is not accessible to the developer.

5. Third-Party Services

The extension communicates directly with OpenAI’s API when analysis is requested. No other third-party services are used.

6. Data Retention

Privacy policy text is processed in real-time and is not stored by the extension or transmitted to any developer-owned infrastructure.

7. Changes to This Policy

If the extension’s functionality changes, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.
